Dopeasaurus Rex: Gets a Job

Yes, that's a house sized T-Rex, on a New York subway car, looking at a poster of the T-Rex Space Force.

Dopeasaurus Rex was an idea I came up with for the 24 hr comic challenge last year. I only made one page and a cover during the challenge. So for my scripting class' final project, I chose to bring that idea to life. It's not perfect, but it was fun. I plan on giving it a tune-up before I do a print run.

The mini-comic will be available for sale whenever I do a show or convention, so this comic in its entirety will only be available until Tuesday (12/3/13). Until then, enjoy!

(Update on 12/3/13: I took down pages 3-6. I'll have the mini-comic up again another time!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm still alive. Finals at SCAD was trying to take me out! But I made it through with high grades and no damage to my GPA. lol

Since it's Thanksgiving, I'd like to post a few things about what I'm thankful for.
God, life, family, a good girlfriend, jobs. And mini-comics! The last two items I condensed into a mini-comic about a house sized T-rex getting a job.

Ain't he cute?

The web-comic will be available this Saturday via this site. I don't have my web-comic space up yet.

Happy Thanksgiving folks!!

Hitchcock

Hey folks!

A little update on Punky Doodle Dandy. Pre-orders were done a while back. I secured a few. Haha. So I'll have to ask a few folks on how to set up the store. The cover is done and we're just waiting for the press release.

In the meantime, SCAD Atlanta classes started this week. So check out my inking assignment:

Alfered Hitchcock. Film Mastermind.

The first image is the 11 x 17 under drawing, and the second is an 8" test. My task is to not over work the image. Hahaha. I'll end up doing too much.

I have a review of the HTC 8X Windows Phone coming up early next month (you fellow artists will want to pay attention) along with an update for Cathy Catastrophe fans!

Back again!

With news this time!

Friends of mine from SCAD banded together and formed VOLTRON!!!

No.

But really just as awesome.
We published an anthology called Punky Doodle Dandy to celebrate all things Punk based. Steam/ Diesel/ Cyber/ Afro Punk.
With the way Cathy Catastrophe has evolved, she snugly fits into the Afro Punk Category. A lot of friends and some industry pros are lending their skills and talents on this book. And the book will be available to purchase as soon as they come from the printer.

Cathy's the girl in the cat hat standing by her friend Marisol.

Both of these panels are from page 1 of the 3 page special in her universe when Cathy meets a fictional band named Lying in Paris.
I had a super fun time working on this project. And I'll follow this up with a look into how Cathy's story has developed over the while. Her webcomic is just around the corner!

Renovations

Just going through and renovating my blog & in the process of getting all this art scanned and online.
But it's pretty tough while going to Scad & constantly at the desk drawing.
So in the mean time, here's some art!

Comic Buys

All my buys from Titan Comics

So I decided to skip Dallas Comic Con this year. I didn't feel compelled to spend $20 to get in in order to spend $70+ dollars on great art & rare comics. So a friend (Jess) and I hit up Titan Comics.

No I've never played Valkyria Chronicles, but the art hooked me. Between the the wrap around cover and sheer volume of finished work, models, and unused drawings, I went ahead and picked it up. And yeah, Titan ended up carrying the Valkyria Chronicles 2 art book as well.

Shrapnel Graphic Novel? At half off? That was a steal. I bought the single issues a long while ago and stopped at the last two issues before the series was done.
I'm a sucker for the Sonic series. I started reading it as a kid and they've been doing great things with it so I hear. Guilty pleasure as charged.
Adventure Time? Yes. Adventure Time.
And Mega Man. I figured if the Sonic Series is good, I might as well check out another title that I used to like. And yeah, it's adorable.

Anyways, I'll catch it next year.

In other news.
Photoshop is working for me again.

I bought CS4, and for some reason, between an Nvida Geoforce GTX graphics card & an i7 Processor, Photoshop CS4 decided to be slow on me. Nothing else did that to me, from Manga Studio, to Illustrator and Flash. Sense my frustration now?

Apparently there's a feature I had to turn off called OpenGL Drawing. Doesn't make sense, but whatever.

I'm back in business for working in Photoshop.

Classy Art Nouveau Knight

I decided to put together my love of women with swords & Art Nouveau together.

In other news, I've been neglecting this blog on purpose actually. I took a much needed absence drawing, working, and writing; generally getting my chops up and removing the possible distraction of caring what other people thinking about my artwork. Once I get in that mode, it's hard to get out. It was just best to get out of that climate and focus on me & my art personally.

For the next long while, I'll be continually updating this site with a new project that's been in the works for a while. It's been an odyssey working on it & a great pleasure to share with you all.

Until my next post, enjoy the art.
